Strange title, I know, but it has been a strange day(the day, has nothing to do with this though).
Brennan had his return visit with the much loved Dr Ben today, for his first cavity removal. He was so excited to go! I know! He had such a great experience his first time a few weeks ago, has always loved Dr. Ben, but is now totally in love with Mrs. Amy. All he kept saying was “Do you know Mrs. Amy? She is so nice!” Well, I do know Mrs. Amy, and “so nice” doesn’t begin to describe her.
So, David took Brennan and said that he got a little nervous (you can tell because he becomes Chatty Cathy, like his dad) and they prayed and cried a little, but all in all it was a great experience. Dr. Ben even pulled up my new Blog for Brennan to read while under the drill! Brennan informed me on the way home that he read my “diarrhea” (diary). Boys. He then proceeded to give Logan a positive pep talk about his visit this Wed. That doesn’t happen very often.
I am just amazed at the office that Ben has created. It is truly one of the most relaxing, genuine environments I have ever been in. You can tell how much prayer went into everything.
To you, Dr. Ben and Mrs. Amy! Who would have thought that our family would fight over when it was our turn to go to the dentist! We love you guys!
Thanks for the shout-out Courtney! Love it. And, I would like to add some commentary on your husband. I’ve seen lots of kids melt-down, puddle-like, in my dental chair. I know when an appointment is a gonner!–I don’t fret, I just thank the Lord for pediatric dentists . I was just about certain we’d reached that point…when your studly husband said, “Let’s go Brennan…father-son prayer time.” I don’t know if he can sell the stuff he’s got, but your David Reichley could become a millionaire overnight. Truly, literally, absolutely, it was amazing. David loved Brennan so well, was so patient and encouraging…then, the prayer time…and Brennan came out of the side room, rubbed his eyes dry, climbed into the chair, opened his mouth and did not wimper one bit for the shot, drilling or filling. I nominate David for dad of the year.
I agree more than ever with you! He told me about that. There is a reason that I don’t go unless I have too, with these kind of visits…more than I don’t do well with needles and such. That whole patience thing is his gift! Thanks for doing what you do.
